1979
Dipl.-Ing. Werner Meisel sets up his own business. Before this, he had worked as head of development at well-known firms such as Optimol and Klüber Lubrication, with responsibilities which included developing special lubricants for tail and elevator assemblies on NASA space shuttles.
Late 1980s
Meisel develops oils and lubricants with a solid material (ceramic) as a key component.
1988
Die MEISEL – CHEMISCHE SPEZIALPRODUKTE is founded to drive the development of specialised lubricants.
2009
Meisel hands over management of the business to his son, Bernd. Having shown a keen lifelong interest in tribology, Bernd Meisel continues to develop specialised additives with the same degree of passion as his father.
